Introducing
Anthony Green
27-03-04
‘Greeny’ is now in his second season with the Robins, having signed halfway through last term. His arrival co-incided with a change in fortunes for the club, due in no small part to his outstanding performances at right back. Struggling near the bottom of the table, Greeny helped to bolster the defence as we embarked upon a great 12 game unbeaten run which saw us climb the table to finish sixth.
Although standing only 51 8” tall, his strength and determination means that he is rarely beaten in the air and has even covered at centre-back. On the ground he is hardly ever passed by opposing wingers and on the ball he is calm and assured.
He lives with his handsome dad David, extremely pretty mum Michelle, who looks like she’s in her late 20’s, gorgeous sister Anna, and brothers Davey and Michael who both have a striking resemblance to Mel Gibson.
Previous clubs include Feniscowles and Canberra, and he’s also represented Lancashire under-18’s.
His best moment in football was when he was in the college team which lifter the Lancashire Cup. Worst moments were when his school team lost 22-0! And when he was part of the Robins team that lost 7-0 at Cammell Laird.
Today’s man of the moment likes to make himself heard on the pitch and if he has a fault, it’s getting ‘lippy’ with the officials-so cut it out! Greeny also likes to play the game hard and his favourite current player is Roy Keene, with Graeme Souness his top former player. Hobbies include writing poetry-I’m still waiting for an example to put in the programme-singing, going out, and having a laugh. Let’s hope that he’s sobered up for tonight’s game!
Take a bow Greeny, today’s
