Introducing

CHRIS HESLOP

20-09-02

Today it gives me great pleasure to introduce to you one of the best young players to grace this ground for many years. When his father told me how old Chris was, I couldn’t believe it as he plays with such maturity. This boy can tackle, is good in the air, great right foot, even better left, superb crosser, perfect attitude, controls the ball like Glen Hoddle, doesn’t argue with officials, always gives 100%, arguably the best 17 year old ever to put on a great Harwood shirt. He’s the best teenage player that I’ve seen since David Norris at Boston United, who left for Bolton Wanderers a couple of years ago for £100,000 and now staring for Plymouth Argyle.
Chris is 5’ 8” and weighs in at 12 stones. He lives in Clitheroe with his parents and sister and in fact made his first team debut for them at a very young age. His other former club was Bury who would probably have signed him on but for their terrible financial plight. The best ground that he’s played on is Wembley Stadium and another playing highlight was when he represented Dorset County.
When not on the football pitch, he likes to play squash and snooker but playing and scoring is what he loves best. The thing that Chris dislikes more than anything is losing, and hopefully, he won’t be losing too many times this season.
When Chris Heslop is famous, we’ll be able to tell our grand children that we saw him play at the Showground.
