DAVE DRADFORD –Manager
AGE-51
HEIGHT-5’ 7”
WEIGHT-Ten stones (wet through).
Dave joined the Robins during the summer after John Hughes’ departure and soon found out that he had a huge job on his hands as the players tried to adjust to a higher standard of football.
During his long and distinguished career in the Professional game, he’s played for many clubs. Manchester City, Blackburn Rovers, Sheffield United, West Bromwich Albion, Detroit Express, Washington Diplomats, Baltimore Blast, Tulsa Roughnecks, Seattle Sounders, Coventry City, Barrow and Blackpool-phew!
He doesn’t say whether he had so many clubs because he was in demand or because everyone wanted to offload him!
Dave now lives in Blackburn with his gorgeous wife Elaine, who looks as though she should be appearing on the covers of glossy magazines, not in old stands at non-league football grounds. The couple have two sons, Ryan 21, and 18 year-old Clark who has already made his debut here.
The best moments that Dave has experienced are when he played in the USA and when he appeared alongside George Best in Austria whilst on tour with Detroit Express. The worst moments in football are the ones he’s experiencing at the moment after our disastrous start to the season!
His favourite other team is Manchester United and his favourite player is Paul Scholes. It hardly needs mentioning that his top former player is George Best.
Hobbies include travelling, playing tennis and Guinness, something which he’s been drinking more of in recent weeks!
The best ground that Dave’s played on, and the list is pretty extensive, is Old Trafford. He particularly likes honest people, good food and good company, and dislikes selfish people.
Let’s hope that results here at the Showground pick up soon before the Guinness drinking becomes a problem!
Good luck for the rest of the season……….
Dave Bradford
