Introducing
Eddie Hadfield
Today’s featured celebrity is one of our best supporters, Eddie Hadfield. Although 78 years-old (but looking 54!) Eddie has only been watching the Robins for around two years. Even so he’s a regular fixture on the terraces at both home and away fixtures, normally found on the Pop-Side, and also supports the club via sponsorship. His lovely wife Mary is very understanding and permits Eddie to ‘play out’ whenever the lads are in action. He says that his favourite moments in football are when Harwood are winning, and his worst moments are when we lose. Bobby Harris is rated as the top man at the club, with Richard Fogarty the best former player. Maine Road’s ground is rated as the best at this level, apart from the Showground of course, and Darwen are Eddie’s favourite ‘other’ team. He likes to see a clean game and particularly dislikes too much ‘whistle’. Hobbies outside of football include golf, which he likes to both play and watch.
If you ever fancy a flutter on our ‘lucky 6’ then Eddie is the man to ask for advice, having already won the jackpot twice this season. Being an optimist, he is always confident that Harwood will win, and at the recent game against Holker, with the game seemingly lost at 3-6, he predicted a home win which would have been realised but for a great save by the visiting keeper when the score was 6-6.
Keep up the good work, supporter of the week……
