Introducing
James Hughes
(18-10-03)
Today we introduce one of our newest and keenest fans, James ‘Mad-Dog’ Hughes. James along with his brother William has been supporting the Robins for just one season but has already established himself as one of our best supporters, having become a season ticket holder and a regular on the famous Blackburn and Darwen Robins away days.
This week James has celebrated his thirteenth birthday so congratulations go out to him from everyone at the Showground.
He lives in Darwen with the afore mentioned brother William, mum Suzanne and dad Ian, who saw his first Harwood game when we played Ashton. James can be found on the Pop-Side at home games and his favourite player is John Eastham.
With being a new supporter, his best memories are not surprisingly to do with his other favourite team Blackburn Rovers. When the Blues won the Worthington Cup rates as his finest moment and the worst was relegation three years ago.
Favourite ground, after the Showground of course, is Ewood Park but the choice is getting bigger as he’s visited more than a dozen new grounds during the past twelve months following the Robins. Away from football, James likes cricket, pool, darts, snooker and playstation. His dislikes are Burnley and Manchester United-sorry James I can’t print that, oops, too late!
One of James’ hidden talents came to the fore on Tuesday night at Blackpool. His bugle playing was extraordinary and it put Louis Armstrong to shame! The Blackpool fans were also very impressed and commented that the atmosphere made it seem like being at a ‘real’ football game!
Give us another tune and take a bow,
James ‘Mad-Dog’ Hughes
Robins Superfan!
