John Kirkham

I have many memoirs of Gt Harwood in the early/mid 1960's 

I actually played on the wing for Gt. Harwood reserves as a 16 years old....with Bryan Douglas at inside forward....I remember him being very supportive and encouraging....someone I had watched years earlier at Ewood and was a very special day indeed.  

Even further back to the real heroes (to me anyway, because I was allowed to travel on the team bus to the away games in the Lancashire combination league) of Gt. Harwood when the calvert's did manager the club...

Players like: Danny Parker, Dave Freeman, John (Jack) Kirkham ....my father....Jack Symonds (of lancashire cricket) goalkeeper "rogerson", sorry, I cannot remember his first name...sounds like something out of rippling yarns.... 

Used to have cuttings in a scrapbook....whether it is still in the family I am not sure....
