Peter Birtwistle (Bertie)

Bertie has been supporting the Robins through thick and thin for more seasons than he can remember and is usually found behind the goal where he hasn’t got far to go to the Clubhouse. He’s another one of our ‘celebrities’ who refuses to give his age, 21-60 was all he would divulge. His weight is described as heavy, previous clubs are any that sells drinks and his favourite position is standing at the bar. I’ve been to several games with him and you can always be sure of missing the start of both halves. Bertie lives in Great Harwood, is married to long suffering wife Jean and has four children. The highlight of his career was working for Eric Whalley (ha-ha). His favourite ground is listed as anywhere away from home so Chairman Bill just might have something to say to him about that! His hobbies are, drinking, drinking and drinking.
