Introducing

Rizwan Khan

‘Riz’ is the first of the club’s ‘babies’ to be introduced. He joined the club at the beginning of the season along with many others after we took over the Darwen Youth team. The young players statistics are Age-18, Height-5’ 9”, Weight-11st. 2lbs.
His previous club was Rochdale St. Clements and his position is right or left wing or striker. He lives with his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters in Rochdale. He’s far too young to be out working so he’s at college. The best ground that he’s played on is Barnoldswick although I’m sure that will change this season with the higher level of competition. The highlight of his short career was when he scored ‘a great goal’ (Riz’s description!!!) in an Umbro tournament which saw his team reach the final. Riz likes most sports and also enjoys ‘mixing it’, that’s something to do with music, not knocking seven bells out of defenders!
I recently saw him in action at Winterton where he ran himself silly up and down the right wing for two hours and the lad’s fitness is incredible. I was shattered just watching him!
