Introducing

RYAN PARR

18-01-03

Today it gives me great pleasure to introduce to you, our defensive ‘King-Pin’ and man mountain as far as attackers are concerned, Ryan Parr. Still just 20 years of age, 6’ 2” and 13st. 10lbs. of pure muscle, Ryan provides a stern test for even the most experienced forwards. In his first season at the Showground he soon made a big impression with the Harwood faithful and even found time to score two goals in his first four games. He possesses one of the best and hardest shots in the league and it’s somewhat surprising that he doesn’t take more free kicks from the 30-40 yard range.
Ryan’s previous clubs include Bury, Burnley and Accrington Stanley and the highlight of his career so far were when he played for Burnley and was sent for training with the England Youth team, and winning the Cup and gaining promotion with a team that included no fewer than EIGHT members of his family. Father Dave has also played for Great Harwood and his brother Danny has played for Accrington Stanley. It’s fair to say that Mum Eileen is Ryan’s biggest fan, and together with Dave can be seen at almost every Harwood game, home and away.
Ryan’s favourite grounds are the Crown at Accrington and Haig Avenue, Southport, and his favourite other club is Blackburn Rovers (Good lad!) Particular ‘likes’ are playing music and tackling and ‘dislikes’ include forwards and vegetable-think on Ryan, you’ll never grow big and strong if you don’t eat your veg.!!!!
Let’s hope that this season is the first of many for Ryan at Great Harwood Town F.C. and that his trophy cabinet gets a few additions over the coming seasons.

Take a bow,

RYAN PARR
