SANDRA KNOWLES

I don’t know if Sandra is the football club’s best supporter, but she’s certainly in the top ten, and one of a very small band who name Great Harwood Town as the ‘FIRST’ team.
Sandra is sadly widowed, but her family consist of, son Peter, daughter-in-law Tracey, sister Eileen and grandchildren Joe and Ben. She is the catering manager at Boxes in Great Harwood and also works part time at Ramsbottom’s Solicitors, so she’s obviously rolling in money!
She has supported the Robins for six to seven years and counts as the highlight the 2-2 draw at Brigg Town in last year’s F.A. Vase, a tie which we eventually went out of after extra time in the replay. Her favourite player in the current squad is the magnificent Matt Derbyshire who she hopes will stay at the club long enough to become a legend like Pete Smith.
The highlight of this season is what’s happening right now. The tremendous finish to the campaign which has been brought about by the players and management team of John and Dave who she cannot praise enough for the way in which they’ve turned round the fortunes on the pitch.
Sandra has done most jobs at the football club, including selling tickets, running the tea bar etc. etc. She can be found on match days ‘guarding’ the players’ gate in case anyone tries to sneak in without paying (which they often do) and over the past few seasons, she has saved the club hundreds of pounds. Just a snarl from Sandra and the punters can’t get their £4’s out fast enough!
If she was lucky enough to win a bob or two on the Lottery, the first thing that she’d do is to get the changing rooms sorted out into tip top condition. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for you,

Sandra Knowles –SUPERFAN!
