SARAH PEARCE
Twenty nine year old Sarah has been supporting the Robins since 1992 although her appearances have been a little sporadic due to her relocations around the country. Now living in Sheffield, she’s surely our best long distance supporter, not only turning up at home games, but many away fixtures, including night matches. Sarah has returned home to South Yorkshire on many occasions after two o’clock.
Often to be found on the famous Pop-Side, the highlight of her time watching Harwood were the clashes against Lancaster (her home town and other favourite team) and last season’s march to the 2nd Division Trophy Final. The worst thing about following the team is that it’s always cold and wet when she visits. Another notable ‘low-light’ was the sour taste left in her mouth after the home game with Flixton, so let’s hope that we won’t be playing them for long while!
Sarah’s mum is called Brenda, who hates Sarah’s passion for football and would rather she put on a pink dress and took up embroidery. Dad is Bob, a Birmingham City supporter (there’s no accounting for taste!) so he must not like football either! Her favourite former player is Paul Baker and top present player is Pete Smith. Warrington Town’s Cantilever Park is the best ground that she’s been on while watching the Robins although she’s visited many fine stadia whilst watching Lancaster in the Unibond League.
Particular likes are cars, beer, obscure football matches and money, although there’s none of that left after she’s done the first three! Cats are also a big part of Sarah’s life and she has four living with her at the moment.
Dislikes include not being able to go to more football games due to work commitments.
Outside of the ‘beautiful game’ she likes Formula One and Shed Seven-whatever that is!!
Last season was Sarah’s best in terms of making it to the games. So let’s hope that trend continues this term and we see Sarah here at the Showground for many years to come.
Star supporter…….
Sarah Pearce
