Introducing
SHAUN BURSNELL
21-10-02
Thirty four year old Shaun returned to where he belongs last year and altogether has spent 6 seasons at the Showground. Ian McGarry made one or two mistakes while he was here butting letting Shaun go was undoubtedly his biggest, as relegation followed.
Shaun’s first appearance for ‘Rossy’ (who he joined after leaving us) back here saw his new team wipe the floor with us but unfortunately he was carried off injured after some nasty tackling by the Robins’ players.
His family consists of his gorgeous wife Diane, eight year old Liam, who will hopefully follow in his Dad’s footsteps, and beautiful daughter, two year old Genna.
Shaun’s favoured position is either in midfield or up front though he has played in every position for us including goalkeeper! Previous clubs include Clitheroe, Accrington Stanley and Bamber Bridge. His favourite other team is the Rovers and not surprisingly his favourite ground is Ewood Park-smart lad! The highlight of his career so far was when he played for Stanley against the Rovers to celebrate 100 years as a Football Club. Hobbies include watching Blackburn Rovers when he gets a chance and playing cricket in the summer, so poor Diane is obviously a ‘grass widow’ all year round!
Hopefully Shaun will be at this club for many years to come as he’s a cracking player, versatile, good with both feet, good in the air, totally fearless, hard tackler and all round good egg.
ALL THE BEST FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON
