Introducing

William Hughes

13-09-03

Today’s spotlight falls on one of our youngest, newest and keenest supporters. William only started watching the Robins midway through last season, but his arrival coincided with an upturn in the team’s fortunes. So much so that we were unbeaten for the rest of the campaign!
He was highly impressed with the standard of football so far down the Pyramid, and realised just how good a player has to be to ‘hack it’ at this level. As with many of the famous Blackburn and Darwen Robins, William’s first love is Blackburn Rovers and he is a season ticket holder at both Ewood and the Showground-now that’s dedication to the beautiful game! At most home games he can be found on the Pop-side and has also been to many away games during the last nine months or so.
Not surprisingly at 15 years old, he lives with his mum, dad and kid brother James, and resides in Darwen.
His favourite ground is Ewood Park and his best moment at a football match was the Worthington Cup Final at Cardiff when the Rovers beat Spurs. Worst moment was the relegation for Rovers in 1999.
Being a new supporter he doesn’t have a favourite former player but his current ‘idol’ is John Eastham and William can’t believe that Easty isn’t playing in the Unibond or even Conference.
Outside of football his hobbies include pool, snooker and darts, though where he plays all these ‘pub’ games at 15 years old, I’m not sure!
Keep up the good work William!
